This week at Embedded World 2022, Supermicro introduced an update to a solution that we have taken a look at before. The company announced that it has updated its pole-mounted system dubbed the Supermicro IP65 Outdoor Edge system with the new Intel Xeon parts including Xeon D.
The SYS-210SE-31A is SuperMicro’s latest entry in the increasingly popular edge server segment. Intriguingly, this 2-unit, 430mm short-depth server offers three hot-swappable nodes, each with a single CPU and eight DIMM slots.
Supermicro has a number of systems targeting this market under the Embedded/IoT category. Their SuperServer E100 product line makes use of motherboards in the 3.5" SBC form-factor.

620P-TRT Mainstream server could be an all-in-one solution for small and medium businesses. As part of Supermicro’s X12 Ultra motherboards, this system features two third-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Ice Lake) making it ideal for software-defined storage, cloud computing, and telecom use cases.
The Supermicro Ultra SuperServer SYS-220U-TNR is a special configuration from the company, in that it brings 22 NVMe SSDs to the front of the system.
